Dumb Ways to Die

Today, I thought I would show you the latest viral video. It's for Melbourne Metro and is telling you to be safe around trains (really!). I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and then heard it went viral (and am now super excited!) It's a great song, great animations/illustrations and pretty funny too! Enjoy!

Just a minute in... November

In an attempt to return to the blogosphere I have taken a leaf out of Amanda from Here Comes the Sun's book and do a 'Minute In' post! Her lovely one can be found here.

Watching... Game of Thrones and Gossip Girl. However, I just finished the second season of Game of Thrones (soooo good but I want more!) so I need to add another to the list, maybe the latest season of Mad Men... however, any recommendations?

Reading... Life of Pi, I only just started though. Hopefully this list will be bigger come the end of the extensive uni Summer break as hopefully I will read most of my growing list!

Listening to...  on top of the usual, new music from Alpine, Ball Park Music, the Rubens, Tame Impala, Two Door Cinema Club and also the likes of the Killers and Vampire Weekend to prep myself for Big Day Out next year.

Wandering... who will get the number 1 spot in Triple J's Hottest 100, I cannot think of any obvious choices like Somebody I Used to Know last year. Any suggestions? And also where I will live and how my career will go after I finished my uni degree, it's another year away, but I'm still stressing out (stay in Adelaide, or go to Melbourne?!)

Cleaning... (oh fun, a cleaning section), my room. Or at least considering it (oops hahaha). I'm trying to fit everything I have in Adelaide with me into my room, and am currently failing (my cupboards are seriously about to explode!). Is it worth sorting out nineteen years of hoarding now, or wait til next year when I get a place of my own?

Glad to be... finished my second year of uni (woo!) and getting ready for Christmas (I may have splurged in the Christmas sections of David Jones and Myer last week hehe).

Well, that has to be probably the most boring Minute In... you've read! Feel free to join in and comment a link!

I am ridiculously in love with ASOS's new Australian collection!
Here are my favourite pieces, but as you can tell that's nearly all of them!
A highlight for me is definitely the white dress with a babushka print! I am dying to get my mits on something with a similar print!
Check out the whole collection on the ASOS website!

Lana Del Rey for VOGUE Australia

Lana Del Rey for Vogue Australia
Photographer: Nicole Bentley
Fashion Editor: Christine Centenera
Hair: Anna Cofone
Make-up: Pamela Cochrane
Manicure: Mandi Levanah

Sorry, for the lack of posting for a while, time just went by.

How stunning is this Lana Del Rey shoot for Vogue? Simply beautiful- I love the clothes, makeup, hair, room, props, everything! It just screams to me everything I love. I must say, I wasn't always a fan of Lana Del Rey, I wasn't taken by her music, but I was inspired to draw this cover of Vogue, and thought it was only fitting to listen to this songstress at the same time, and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of songs on her album until a faulty fire alarm caused me to evacuate the building at midnight.

None of the Lana Del Rey imagery would be new to Aussies, but hopefully any international folk will have never seen it before.

Flattery's Bedroom

Breanne from Flattery just did a lovely post about her recent room decorating- and I love it. It's quirky and sweet. I also love it because it's her actual room and therefore has stuff in it- the worst thing about looking at interior design magazines and site is that you can never actually achieve the look because you have too much stuff (or maybe that's just me) or because you have sentimental things that must be on display however, they do not go with the theme of the room.
Therefore, I find this kind of mismatched, quirky, vintage decoration perfect, because you can feature all of your collectables and it still looks good.
I dream of the day where I can completely decorate a room myself, and paint. I've always had to put up with the baby blue walls my parents chose before I was born, and frankly, I'm more of a pink and purple person. And well, at college, it's whatever's cheapest, at least I have blue not faded orange curtains this year!
You can check out the post here!
Hope you had a lovely day, mine was great before I put a tissue in the wash!

Pony Anarchy Magazine

My favourite online magazine read Pony Anarchy has finally released their seventh issue. Filled with beautiful photography and illustration this issue is amazing, the magazine get bigger and better with every issue. I do hope that one day they release it in print (I am more partial to be able to feel -and smell- books and magazines). But for now I will continue to read the online goodness here!

I should also mention that the editor is the very talented Kristie Webster, who is about my age. When seeing people like her and athletes in their late teens and early twenties win gold medals at the Olympics really make me feel like I have achieved nothing in my nineteen years! I do hope I continue onto something great like these amazing people!

I guess that since this is a Monday, I should post something musically- last Friday I purchased Two Door Cinema Club's latest album Beacon and the Vaccines' Come of Age. Both are amazing and definitely didn't have that whole second album disaster thing. I highly recommend you go out and buy them!

Fashion Is A Playground

Today's style inspiration comes from yet another style blog (sorry, I'm just loving 'stalking' other people at the moment haha). This one is from French blogger, Aurelia from Fashion is a Playground. Not only are the photo set in France (making them a million times better than any other fashion bloogers photos) but I find her what appears to be Alexa Chung inspired looks to be amazing, with the right combination of preppy, vintage, rocker and tomboy.
I really love the salmon coloured jeans!

Hope your week has been swell- the weather here in Adelaide has been horrible the past couple of days, and with no Olympics or Masterchef Australia all I have to do is homework! Well at, least it's getting done, I suppose...

Quirky Interior Design

Why hello,

Just thought I might do a little interior post. I've been thinking a lot about how I would decorate my own house (when the time comes). Going by these photos, I am thinking white walls, retro furniture, lots of picture frames, a library (of course!), pink and green accents, and my favourite, plant life!
All of these images were found on this tumblr: http://interiorporn.tumblr.com/

I suppose it comes from it being the time of the year when students at residential colleges are deciding whether to stay at college another year or to move out. I want to stay, out  of convenience and because I don't know where I will live when I've finished my degree so I don't want to go to all of the trouble of preparing an apartment, however, lots of my friends are probably moving out, so if they do I may be living on my own (just so any potential flatmates don't have to re-organise someone if I decide to leave, and sometimes I wouldn't have time to cook anything but two-minute noodles, etc.) Ah decisions!

Meanwhile, I have had a fabulous day! Both of my lecturers liked my studio work (very unusual), and I was invited to the pub for lunch (ah student life, no drinking by most though). So all in all a nice day! Hope yours was just as good- Tara :) xx
